Leadership

The leadership of Forestdale Church is made up of teams of Elders, Deacons and Ministry Coordinators. The Pastor serves the church as a co-leader alongside the other elders who work together to teach and equip the church members for effective ministry (Ephesians 4:11-13).  The Deacons work in conjunction with elders to oversee the hands-on care of the church buildings and grounds in order to assure that the facilities are properly equipped to carry out the vision of Forestdale Church. Ministry Coordinators and Ministry Teams are comprised of people selected by the leadership and affirmed by the membership so that they can coordinate and provide leadership for each of the specific areas of ministry within the church.

Current Deacons:  Chuck Burke, John Morgan, Jeff Payne & Agnes Franklin

Ethan Wormell, Pastor & Elder

Ethan and his family moved to the Cape in March of 2022 as Ethan was called to be the new pastor at Forestdale Church. He loves working out in the gym, cycling, playing acoustic guitar, and reading. As a family, the Wormell’s love spending time with others, traveling, and sleeping in! Ethan’s life verse is Acts 20:24, “I do not consider my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God”. Please pray for him and his family as they serve Forestdale Church and the surrounding community.

Bruce Hanlon, Elder

Bruce and his family have lived on the Cape since 2015. Bruce enjoys working out, spending time outside with his dog (in warm weather which is anything above 75 degrees), being with his wife and kids, watching movies, and traveling. Bruce‚Äôs life verse is Philippians 3:10 “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.”  This verse means a lot to Bruce because it succinctly describes the Christian life because it shows: (1) a desire to know Jesus (2) the desire to experience the power of His presence (3) the reality that the resurrection power can only be experienced on the other side of dying to yourself.

Ben McCabe, Elder

Ben and his wife Hannah (and 2 children) have lived on the Cape since 2005 and have been members of Forestdale Church for the majority of their 17 years on the Cape. Ben enjoys board games, reading, and computers and has a heart for missions and discipleship. His favorite verse is from Romans 12:1-2 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God- this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the patterns of this word, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing, and perfect will”.
